Recognizing Future Leaders in Insolvency Law

The IIC Prize in Insolvency Studies was established in 2003 to “encourage the study and analysis of insolvency and reorganization issues in Canada”. Originally only issued at four universities, in 2018 the program was expanded to 17 universities across the country.
Recognizing top academic achievement, the IIC Prize in Insolvency Studies is presented to the student with the highest grade in the university’s bankruptcy, restructuring, or insolvency law course. Along with the $1,000 monetary award, the IIC offers each winner the chance to connect with an IIC member at a firm of their choice as an invaluable networking and mentorship opportunity.
IIC Prize winners and their respective universities are also recognized on the IIC website and in its social media posts.
The annual prize program is launched at the beginning of each academic year with posters provided both in hard copy and electronically to participating universities, along with announcements on the IIC’s social media platforms. The prize is available to students in either first term or second term. In the case of a tie, the award is divided equally between the winners.
Winners’ names are posted as they are received from their respective universities at the end of the academic year.
The list of our 2025-2026 IIC Prize in Insolvency Studies winners is below with names posted as they are received. Congratulations to all the Prize winners for their remarkable achievement!
